You should have arrived here from my friend Kazan

Welcome back to my blog. I am so happy you are here. I love sharing as much as I love to create and play. If you are new here and want to be notified when I post something new, just simply enter in your email address to receive a notification.
Hooray! Our theme is Fall, although here in California it still feels like Summer. When I think of Fall, I imagine leaves, pumpkins, hot cocoa, apple cider. It is one of my favorite times of year. Where’s the pile of leaves to play in?
For my project today, I have created a few cards, using liquid colors, inks and pan pastels. I incorporated the amazing blocks from FSJ because this month they are on promotion! It is a great time to stock up on the ones you need to fill in you collection. If you don’t have any yet the starter kit with case is an awesome deal!

This first card uses two atc stamp sets; Zen Leaves and Many Thanks along with Grid Paper background stamp. For my sentiment I used the thanks from the Designer Frames Die Set. Apply Journey Glaze and let dry.

Leaves are inked in Haystack , Citrus Cooler and Cranberry Bliss,True Color Fusion, Inks with a dauber and cut out with the coordinating dies.
For the background I inked the Grid Paper stamp with Oatmeal Cookie and Hazelnut Blend Color Fusion Inks. Ink around the edge of the piece then splatter with BLack Licorice Silks. Top off with some Gold Pan Pastel.

Using the journey circles cut a piece of cork or burlap for the leaves to be popped up on with medium journey squares.
Stamp in clear pigment ink and white emboss sentiment from Many Thanks ATC Set. Assemble card as shown. Mounting the background askew on cardbase.

Isn’t this card FUN! The bold orange with the gold and black is such a bold design and gives such a happy feeling. I used the same stamps just in a different way. I like to show multiple ways to use stamp sets. Why not get the most out of your supplies and challenge yourself to use a stamp set 2 or three ways. If you get stuck bring in another set or element. Change your card orientation, do you get stuck making just vertical cards? Try horizontal, shapes using dies, mounting pieces askew on purpose.
Place several drops of liquid color on the non-grid side of the acrylic block. Spritz water on the Color Splash watercolor sheet and the block.
Then apply block to watercolor sheet. to create desired effect.
Using a clear sheet to pick up more color.
I then stamped partial prints of the grid paper background and splattered with Black Licorice Silk. The maple zen leaf is stamped in Black Licorice in a triangle pattern.
The sentiment is colored using the liquid color and a dauber from the block. I mixed three colors. Lemon Drop, Orange Creamsicle and Candy Apple Red.
