Custom Rainbow Banner

Riley’s 4th Birthday

Welcome to my blog. I apologize for being away so long. I have been busy helping my daughter plan my granddaughter’s 4th Birthday.

When my daughter calls and asks me to make something for her I jump right to it! She planned a Rainbows and unicorn Party with a monochromatic color scheme. Finding the colors was the hardest part.

Riley is Four!
Yummy Chantilly Cake from Whole Foods Market.

For the cake, we bought one made to save time and my daughter added the fresh flowers to go with her theme. It was so delicious! I definitely recommend it.

Matching Vans shoes tied in to the theme.

I handmade the favor bag unicorns with the help of Alyssa cranking out all those little leaves. The banner was one of a kind custom that my daughter requested. It now hangs proudly on my granddaughter’s bed. I might consider custom orders for these, as they are time consuming.

What a fun day celebrating the birthday of my precious granddaughter Riley. I can hardly believe she is four! All grown up and carrying on full-blown conversations with attitude! Her little boyfriend from her class, Liam was so cute too.

I think we did a great job coordinating the decor and outfits for the day. My daughter Sarah has a creative vision like I do and always pulls together the best events. Visit her blog at http://www.gypsychildofthewild.com

I am in party planning mode with my daughter, for my granddaughter’s birthday and her upcoming baby shower. So naturally, I went to items for parties!

I love the cupcake liner die! I have found two ways to use it so far. The first is the traditional way to hold cupcakes, this really dresses up the cupcakes. The second way is to make little treat cups or favor cups. Jelly beans for easter, nail polish, clippers file for a mini mani kit, coffee pods or tea bags.

I used Solid FSJ Cardstock and the Create and Bloom printed papers to create my liners. Cut multiple colors to add layers as I did for the St. Pat’s Day cupcake. For the Easter Bunny liner, I turned it into a basket using a strip of the same patterned paper with the reverse print. The Easter Greetings and the Eggs were stamped with clear pigment ink and embossed with white powder. Happy Easter stamped in Black Licorice True Color Fusion Ink and the bunny is stamped twice, first in Pumpkin Bread True COlor Fusion Ink and then in Hazelnut Fusion Ink. Die Cut using coordinating dies.

I create a circle bottom for the cupcake wrappers using the FSJ Circle dies (a basic die set everyone should own) This also is true when making the wrappers into treat or gift holders.

Don’t forget to comment below and on each team members blog to be in the running for one of 5 $25 gift certificates to Spellbinders-FSJ. Winners should be drawn by Friday, March 22nd. Thank you for visiting my blog and Good Luck.

FSJ Creative Team Easter Blessings

Welcome to the FSJ/Spellbinders Creative Team Hop. We are featuring products from the NEW Easter Blessings Mini Catalog.

The team has been hard at work creating projects to inspire you. You should have arrived here from the very talented Marty McGee. You can always head to the beginning over at the FSJ Blog.

I created a house box using the gable box die and the Sweet Home Accents Die Set. When you combine FSJ Cardstock and the Create and Bloom Prints these boxes are stinkin’ cute!

I started by cutting out two of the gable box pieces in chipboard for stability. Then I began to choose my paper colors and cut them using the die as well as the Journey Blooms Paper Trimmer. The rectangle piece is cut to 3 5/16 x 1.5, the square piece is 3 5/16 x 3 1/2. Cut your doors, windows, grass, clouds, heart, and kitty using FSJ Cardstock and Create and Bloom Prints. I inked around the edges with Tin Pail Fusion Ink to soften the design.

When cutting the window through the chipboard and pattern paper and the same time you will need to make about threes passes through your Platinum 6 die Machine. Then place a piece of plastic sheet adhered behind the window. I loved the idea of popping up the flower box, I added cut pieces of grass and a foam square mounted kitty. These little details are what make these boxes so fun to make.

Supplies used to create this box:

Create and Bloom Prints, Gable Favor Box Die, Sweet Home Accents Die Set, Journey Scoring Board, Detail Pro Shears, Dauber Dowel Small, Journey Foam Squares Small, Tin Pail Fusion Ink, Black Licorice Fusion Ink, Bubble Gum Cardstock, Pool Play Cardstock, Lemongrass Cardstock, Whip Cream Cardstock, Craft Glue.

I am hoping you can see all the glorious details in my photos. Let me know how you feel about the photo gallery v.s. individual photos.

The rectangle piece then is stamped with clear pigment in and embossed with white embossing powder and a heat tool. A die cut a stitched circle from the die set DI-0466 Circle Around Die Set serves as a landing spot popped up for the Love Arrow Heart in Candy Apple Red. FSJ/Spellbinders Creative Team Hop NOV

FB Post

Welcome to the FSJ/Creative Team Blog Hop!

You should have arrived here from FSJ Blog. You will find lots of inspiration for Holiday projects that are 3-D, giftable or something other than a card.

Today I have made 3 trendy colored Chrismas tags and a Garland Banner for Christmas. I used the Spellbinders Gingerbread Boy Garland Tag Die along with the Christmas Candy Cane Stamps and dies. I will also include the cute little-felt ornament I die cut and sewed together.

The steps to make all these projects is fairly easy. For the tags, I used Oatmeal Cookie and Whip Cream Cardstock just snipping the corners off and punching a hole. Inking around the edges.

The gingerbread Boys/Girls were cut out of Bubble Gum, Cool Pool, and Oatmeal cookie. The pieces were cut out of whip cream and colored with Copic Markers.  Journey Glaze added and some coarse glitter.FSJ/Spellbinder #gingerbread #papercraft #christmas #diecuts

FSJ holly Leaf die and circles to create berries. Sentiments from Merry Everything and Christmas Sprig.

The cozy knit embossing folder gives texture to the tags as well as the enamel dots and pearl pen. Patterned Paper and Ribbon from my stash. These are so stinking cute!

My Garland consists of the Gingerbread Men and the candy canes. I used grommets to secure the hands together then adding candy canes and ribbons.

Gingerbread-FSJ/Spellbinders Paper Arts

It’s time to start some Christmas inspiration! Are you ready to see this adorable gingerbread man? As part of the creative team for FSJ/Spellbinders, we are sharing our creative talents to showcase both companies.

#papercrafts #spellbinders #fsj #lezlyelauterbachdesigns #gingerbread #dies
Looks good enough to eat.

I started by cutting my Gingerbread Boy Garland Tag out of FSJ cardstock. Oatmeal Cookie, Whip Cream, Black Licorice, Candy Apple.

Ink the gingerbread with oatmeal Cookie and Hazelnut True Color Fusion Ink. Then piece his icing pieces and add pink pan pastel to cheeks, red glitter to heart buttons, dimensional liquid as icing and google eyes.

The holly Pattern paper is from the FSJ paper pack cozy prints. I also used some funky film red holographic paper to make it more festive.

The sentiment is from FSJ Christmas Sprig. I brought in a pop of green with the holly leaves and bling for berries.

Be sure and check out the rest of the creative team for more projects using Spellbinders/FSJ products.

Fall Thanks-FSJ OCT. Creative Team Hop

You know what time it is? Time for the Fun Stampers Journey Creative Team Blog Hop!

FSJ Design Team Blog Hop

You should have arrived here from my friend Kazan

Journey Letterboard

Welcome back to my blog. I am so happy you are here. I love sharing as much as I love to create and play. If you are new here and want to be notified when I post something new, just simply enter in your email address to receive a notification.

Hooray! Our theme is Fall, although here in California it still feels like Summer. When I think of Fall, I imagine leaves, pumpkins, hot cocoa, apple cider. It is one of my favorite times of year. Where’s the pile of leaves to play in?

For my project today, I have created a few cards, using liquid colors, inks and pan pastels. I incorporated the amazing blocks from FSJ because this month they are on promotion!  It is a great time to stock up on the ones you need to fill in you collection. If you don’t have any yet the starter kit with case is an awesome deal!

temp

This first card uses two atc stamp sets; Zen Leaves and Many Thanks along with Grid Paper background stamp. For my sentiment I used the thanks from the Designer Frames Die Set. Apply Journey Glaze and let dry.

fullsizeoutput_2121.jpeg

Leaves are inked in Haystack , Citrus Cooler and Cranberry Bliss,True Color Fusion, Inks with a dauber and cut out with the coordinating dies.

For the background I inked the Grid Paper stamp with Oatmeal Cookie and Hazelnut  Blend  Color Fusion Inks. Ink around the edge of the piece then splatter with BLack Licorice Silks. Top off with some Gold Pan Pastel.

fullsizeoutput_211e

Using the journey circles cut a piece of cork or burlap for the leaves to be popped up on with medium journey squares.

Stamp in clear pigment ink and white emboss sentiment from Many Thanks ATC Set. Assemble card as shown. Mounting the background askew on cardbase.

temp.jpg

Isn’t this card FUN! The bold orange with the gold and black is such a bold design and gives such a happy feeling. I used the same stamps just in a different way.  I like to show multiple ways to use stamp sets. Why not get the most out of your supplies and challenge yourself to use a stamp set 2 or three ways. If you get stuck bring in another set or element. Change your card orientation, do you get stuck making just vertical cards? Try horizontal, shapes using dies, mounting pieces askew on purpose.

fullsizeoutput_211d.jpegPlace several drops of liquid color on the non-grid side of the acrylic block. Spritz water on the Color Splash watercolor sheet and the block.

fullsizeoutput_211b.jpegThen apply block to watercolor sheet. to create desired effect.

fullsizeoutput_211c.jpegUsing a clear sheet to pick up more color.

fullsizeoutput_211f.jpegI then stamped partial prints of the grid paper background and splattered with Black Licorice Silk. The maple zen leaf is stamped in Black Licorice in a triangle pattern.

fullsizeoutput_2133.jpegThe sentiment is colored using the liquid color and a dauber from the block. I mixed three colors. Lemon Drop, Orange Creamsicle and Candy Apple Red.
